This is it...the last day of 2009 and we're just a couple of short weeks away from THE wedding.
Things are falling into place - Mike has his suit and it's at the tailor now, my dress has one more alteration and we'll be finished, I have my shoes, we bought bathing suits, wedding packets have been mailed and itineraries are on their way. And all of the other details will be sorted out when we arrive. It's hard to believe that it's already been a year since we were engaged - and two years since we met. I'm not sure if it feels like a long time or a very short time. Is it possible to feel both?!
This blog started as a way to chronicle the journey of planning our wedding and capturing some of the fun (and maybe stressful) times along the way. I read my blog from the beginning yesterday to remember all of the things I wrote about about. It was fun thinking back to some of those times...and I remember exactly how I was feeling at the time I wrote them.
But while I was reading, I realized I didn't write about all of the ups and downs of planning our wedding, but what I did do was capture - forever into print - some of the infinite number of reasons I have fallen deeply and completely in love.
So this will be my last post until we are married on January 23, 2010. I know our Love Story will continue and I'm sure I will be back to write about the new and exciting adventures of our life together.
One of my gifts to Mike on our wedding day will be a printed copy of this blog. My hope is that he can read it and smile (and probably have a few eye rolls) but truly know that for as long as I breathe, I will always remember falling in love and the wonderful soulmate he is to me.
what a WONDERFUL gift.
ReplyDeleteI will be looking forward to seeing some blog pictures of your wedding. Wish I could head south with all of you, but instead I will find my own way to be a part of your celebration....
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that I made a donation to Red Cross Haiti, in honor of you and Mike.
ReplyDeleteIn the mist of sadness, there is always joy to celebrate.
