Happy Birthday! Your favorite boy and I miss you so much today and wish we could have celebrated your birthday this morning with a big hug and kiss. But we know you're working hard and will be home before we know it.
I know you don't like to make a big deal out of your birthday, but it's a big deal to me. I'm so thankful you were born today. My life is better for having you in it and I know I could never have found a better Dad for our little boy.
I love you more each day. And even on those days when we're tired and stressed and being parents, when we're being Mike and Shelby instead of "us", know that there's a love so deep that it always is there on the inside, even if it's not showing on the outside.
You're my one and only. You picked this day to ask me to marry you and I'll never forget that either. I am thankful for you every day, but today it means a little bit more to me because I've gotten to share another year with you.
