One of those days.

This post will have nothing to do with my Love Story or the wedding. Today, I need to vent because it's only 10:00 am and I feel like going home to bed and starting over tomorrow.

I started writing an email to Mom about all of the things I'm annoyed with today (just ask anyone who knows me just how easily I get annoyed - "easily" is putting it mildly). Instead, I decided to share with you. I'm sure some or all of these have annoyed you at some point, too. It just so happens that each and every single one of these things happened to me today - all before 10:00 am.

I'm annoyed with:
  • Waking up with a cold sore on the day I'm supposed to have a work dinner
  • Snow boots that are supposed to keep the snow and rain out but amazingly don't keep your feet warm
  • People that don't shovel sidewalks when it snows because hey, THEY don't have to walk on the sidewalk
  • The #X20 bus on Washington that NEVER comes
  • The #20 Madison bus that comes when I'm still a block away
  • The second #20 Madison bus that comes about 45 seconds later as I'm running to the bus stop
  • The second #20 Madison bus DRIVER, that SEES me RUNNING to the bus stop but decides to pull away while I'm sprinting right next to it
  • The guy who was watching me sprint next to the bus and then SMIRKED at me when it pulled away
  • Cars that drive so fast next to the curb that disgusting black snow splatters all over you
  • The fact that I waited at the #20 Madison bus stop for the next 15 minutes without another bus in sight
  • Having to walk to the the dentist in the snow with every part of me sweating except for my toes that were just about to fall off from the cold just so I wouldn't miss my appointment
  • Urban dentists, doctors, and any general offices that require you to "buzz" in to the lobby. I understand why they do this (see one of my first posts about the "crazies" that are in the city). But seriously, I was standing in the little cold entry way without access to the lobby for 5 minutes before I finally CALLED them and they answered from the back of the office - "Oh, I didn't know anyone was there" they say. Ugh
  • Going back out in the cold after the dentist and walking to work - behind some of the slowest people in history. Come on people - just because you can make yourself walk slower than a freaking snail doesn't mean you HAVE to
  • Getting to work and breaking out in hives because I'm so freaking annoyed with everything listed above
  • As I'm itching my hive-y legs, realizing that I didn't go to Walgreens to get my antibiotic prescription filled from the dentist so I have to go outside in the snow, cold and Land of the Slow People again
  • Telling Mom that I have get have antibiotics and she exclaims "Antibiotics?! Did you tell him you're allergic?!". No Mom...I'm 31 years old and I asked for penicillin because at this point, I'd really like my throat to swell shut
  • Getting to Walgreens and hearing from the pharmacist that the dentist obviously has no idea what he's talking about because he prescribed a dosage that doesn't exist - of course she'll have to call him to find out what he meant to write and that means I'll have to come back again this afternoon to pick it up

So now I'm back at my desk and I must say I'm almost laughing - ALMOST is the key word - about all of these ridiculous things from this morning. I think this blogging thing might just be therapeutic.

(P.S. - Mom, sorry about being grouchy this morning (twice). You can call me and I promise I won't bite your head off again...)
