Dear Luke,
They say we should start introducing a "transitional object" to you around 6 months. It's supposed to help with self-soothing and going to sleep on your own. Well. You're a little ahead of the game and are already attached to a few transitional objects. You love your "lovies" and have one for each part of your day!
One at home, one at Callan's and one in your crib for bedtime. You love to rub your face against the soft fabric. I found this out one day when you were so tired. I picked up one of your lovies and rubbed it against your cheek. You fell asleep in 10 seconds flat.
Adelia sent this picture to me just now...this is how you fell asleep. With your "at home" lovie on your face (which we obviously didn't leave at home) and your "at Callan's" lovie in your hand.
It might look strange that it's covering your face. But we find you in bed all the time with your head straight down, nose smashed up against the mattress or in your pillow {Gasp! Yes, we are bad parents and have a pillow in your bed but I swear you love it and would not sleep without it. Please no one call CPS, thanks}.
I hope you're having a good nap, Bubba. I can't wait to get home to you... YOU are my lovie.
Love,
Mama
