I love this picture he took the morning I left....Luke's eyes are so dark in this picture I really think he looks like Maci and Amber.
And then Adelia sent me some pictures from the park yesterday. I can't believe how brave my boy is going down the slide!
And she took this video of Luke doing an "ab workout" the day before. I laughed because this is exactly what he does at night when he's going to bed. Mike and I will be watching TV and we'll hear a big "THUMP, THUMP, THUMP". He whacks his legs against the end of his bed - just like this video!
And last night Mike sent me these pics of our "sweet buns". Couldn't you just take a bite out of those cheeks?!
I realized that I never did a proper Father's Day post. I know Mike knows how much I appreciate him on a daily basis, but it's even more evident during weeks like this when I'm away.
I was talking with someone that attended my meeting this week - she's an executive who travels all the time, is based in Singapore and has two kids. One in college (in the States) and one a senior in high school (in Singapore). She told me that she never could have done it all these years without her husband. He has always been flexible and wonderful with her son and daughter. She even left her 4 month old daughter with him for a MONTH while she went to Paris to work. (I'm pretty sure I'd rather be destitute without a job before I'd leave Luke for a month, but everyone is different I suppose).
Anyway, we talked about how lucky we are to have husbands who can do everything just as well as we can (maybe not the same WAY we would do it, but just as good nonetheless). The only reason I feel ok being away is knowing that Luke is home with his Dad. I don't think I could ever express how much that means to me. I hate being away from home but there is some comfort in knowing that Luke probably doesn't even know I'm gone because he's being chased and tickled and wrestled with and loved so much by his Dad.
I'm sorry honey, for not writing a post for you on Sunday, but you know how much you mean to me and how much your little monkey loves you!
Now, only 9 more hours until I'm home!
