She confirmed that we have a very healthy, strapping baby boy! The official stats:
16 lbs, 6.5 oz (75%)
(almost) 26" long (75%)
17" head circumference (90%!)
| Our big boy waiting for Dr. Ray! |
Dr. Ray thinks that he'll be an early crawler (big surprise!)
We can start him on solids when we're ready...so I think that will come soon.
He has a little hemangioma on the back of his head that we'll keep an eye on.
She also said he's old enough and big enough for us to sleep train him (...I can hear angels singing right now...). It will be hard on all of us, but something that I think will really help.
We've been trying to keep him on a bedtime routine of bath around 6:45 or 7:00 pm, bottle, then bed. He's sooo sleepy by the time we get to the bottle that we really have to fight to keep him awake to eat more than a few ounces. So we may try switching the bottle and the bath. That will also allow us to hopefully rock him for a few minutes after bath and then put him down semi-awake. Cross your fingers - it might be a bumpy ride.
We're so happy and lucky to have a big, happy, healthy boy. He was making all sorts of friends at the doctor's office and it just makes my heart happy to know he's already a smiley, loud, strong, fun little boy. We're going to have our hands full but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Love you lots Bubs!
