I thought for sure he'd weigh more than 20 lbs! He seems so heavy to me now, especially when I'm trying to lug him over the top of his crib when I put him in his bed. She said not to worry too much about his weight going down in percentiles - he's moving more now so he's slimming down a bit.
It's also crazy to me that he grew 2 inches! Maybe the shorty gene skipped a generation? I'm not sure how that's possible with two relatively vertically challenged parents, but only time will tell!
He had one shot and took it like a champ as usual. He even proved his leg didn't hurt by hanging on to Mama's hand and walking out of the exam room and down the hallway (much to the delight of the nurses).
Dr. Selig started to prepare us for the 12 month check up - she said it's "tough" with more vaccines, a tuberculosis skin test and also a blood test for anemia and lead exposure. Sounds like quite a birthday present!
I'm just so happy that Luke is healthy and thriving. It seems light years since he was an itty bitty baby and I was worried about things like how much milk he was getting when nursing and how much sleep he WASN'T getting because he refused to nap longer than 30 minutes. Now I have all new things to worry about. And I'm so thankful for that.
The next stat update will most likely include a picture of a little boy in a birthday hat!
For now, here's the little man with Adelia this morning - looks like they're having fun (also sort of looks like our house is a daycare center with all those toys)!

One week from tomorrow we will be smooching his little FACE!
