I can't believe you've been here for half a year already...I'm not sure I'm ready for you to be growing up so fast. I am really having a hard time getting used to saying (and believing) I have a 6 month old baby. If I'm not careful, you're going to be a whole year old before I know it.
There are so many fun things about you these days...you have such a personality and I think it's all boy. You are happiest when you're crawling on or over something or someone (sorry Callan). You also love to stand up on the back of the couch now and look over the edge. It's like you're seeing a whole new world that is suddenly available to you. I could watch you for hours as you scan the room for new discoveries.
You are so close to crawling...I feel like I've been saying that for weeks...but you are! You'll take 5-6 crawls now before getting down your belly and scooting. One of these days you're just going to take off.
You love to eat. Here are a couple pictures from tonight. I was trying to appease you until I could get dinner ready. You were good for a bit, and then you let me know you were ready for the real deal. Your progression:
Happy, eating a banana.
Getting frustrated with the banana.
Enough of this banana - give me my dinner already!!
You finally outgrew your "baby" bathtub so I got you a seat for the big tub. This is your second night trying it out. First night - not a success. You were scared of the water coming out of the faucet and I also think it was scary that the tub was so big compared to your little confines in the baby tub. Tonight was much better though! Lots of splashing and smiles.
One big change as of late is the amount of hair you have! Your Dad and I swear you just woke up this morning and it had grown. I love it...I still think it's kinda of a strawberry blond. Where in the world that comes from is beyond me. But we still love you. :-)
This is your third week at Aquababies and it is awesome!! Its been really hard to get pictures because it's only one of us and you...so the camera takes a back seat. This is a pic that Dad took on your first day.
There are about 15 babies in your class. We sing lots of songs and have already started teaching you some things like how to climb out of the pool. We put little toys on the edge just out of your reach and you have to climb up and try to get the toy. I have to help you and I put your little knee up on the edge, but you know what you're doing! You were even an example last week for the whole class. :-) We also use inner tubes and you love to blow raspberries on it while you float around. You do such a good job and I'm really glad we are taking you. I really want you to be comfortable in the water so we can have lots of fun summers on the lake.
The holidays are coming up and I am so excited to experience them with you for the first time. I got your Christmas outfit in the mail today. To get in the spirit I turned on the holiday music channel and we had a little sing-a-long together. You loved it. I think maybe you'll like holiday music just as much as your A3 (that's Awesome Auntie Amber).
For some reason I've been seeing a lot of little newborn babies recently. Some on TV, some in real-life, and I get a little choked up remembering how tiny you were. Dad had to make some room on his iPhone last week so he had to go through almost 700 pictures of you and decide which ones he could delete. We looked at them all and I just wanted to cry when I saw how small and fragile you once were. Just 6 short months ago. Time has gone by so fast and I wish I could just bottle these days up so I could remember them just as clearly as I do now.
You have managed to make my heart swell even more than I ever thought it could, Bubba. I see you sometimes and my throat gets tight just thinking about how much I love you.
Happy 6 month birthday big boy - your Dad and I love you so much.
Love,
Mama
