Weekend Update

Well, it was a great weekend if you're a Michigan State fan...boo Hawks.  Can't believe the one game of the year we went to and the Hawks blew it.  Ugh.  Oh well - Mike was a good sport anyway and I got to see my sissy so it wasn't a complete waste of a day.  :-)

Auntie's Katie and Andra got to come babysit for Lukey while we were away...I think they had the best time of all!  Here are some of my favorite pictures.

See the boo boo on his forehead?  First owie with the nanny - pulled himself up and fell on a toy.
Just the first of many, I'm sure.

By all reports he was a good boy and had lots of fun on Saturday!  I think he might have been State's good luck charm...dressed in head to toe MSU as predicted!

We were home just in time for me to snatch up my boy and rock him to sleep.  Sunday was spent buying baby gates to baby-proof this house!

We still have a few more to rig, but for the most part this will keep Mr. InToEverything contained and away from the TV/fireplace.

Bubs is really teething...he's going to town on anything he can fit in his mouth and especially loves the spoon at breakfast and dinner time.  He also has a really REALLY bad diaper rash.  I feel so bad for him; he just screams when I change his diaper.  Adelia emailed me today to tell me he was coming down with one and by tonight it looked awful.  I hope we can get it under control soon; poor boy.  He's got all of the symptoms of a tooth popping through (gnawing, slobbering, lots of poopies and a diaper rash).  I hope it comes through quickly.

We moved up a size in diapers - Luke is now sporting size 3's.  Andra's first comment was that Bubs had on a "diaper thong"!!!  I knew we were getting close but I didn't realize they were that small on him!  Now that I put the 3's on, it makes SUCH a difference.  Hopefully this will cut down on the wet jammies in the night and the blowouts, too.  I guess some things you just need another mama to tell you!

Now that Luke is crawling, I can put him on the floor in the kitchen while I'm getting dinner ready.  I can't believe I already have a baby who's playing in the Tupperware drawer!

Luke's 6 month appointment is on Wednesday.  I'm dying to find out how much he weighs.  I keep meaning to stand on the scale with him but par for the course, something distracts me and I completely forget.  (I know I lost 1/2 my brain when I got pregnant with Luke and I'm sure Mike will attest that it's still missing.)  Anyway, I'm not going to do it now since we'll find out his official stats in another day.  He'll also be up for some shots, too, so I'm not looking forward to that.  I'm sure he'll take them better than I will (as usual).

Now on a completely unrelated note...I was walking to get the car tonight so I could pick up Bubba and I turned around and saw this.

My building is the tall one in the middle.

I get so frustrated with this city on so many levels...but one thing that remains is the ability for it to take my breath away on picture perfect nights like this.

(Just remind me of this post when it's mid-January, -10 and blowing snow...I know I'll be singing another tune then).
